Christie's Art + Tech is an annual conference dedicated to sparking dialogue on emerging technologies and their potential impact on the art market. Speakers from a variety of industries are invited to engage in themed discussions, all centered on how emerging technology is influencing how we create, experience, buy and sell art.
Conversation around the creation of the logotype was spurred by a variety of factors: modularity and scalibility (as the identity had to live across print and digital mediums); adaptibility (as the identity is often shown alongside sponsor logos and thus can't visually compete for attention); and flexibility (for the identity had to also be translated into several languages). An all-text, sans-serif treatment was the solution, without the flourish of ornamentation that would hinder legibility.
